So first of all am I understanding this correctly and is my math relatively accurate? (Be easy on me I'm a musician :)) and if so, other than price is there a reason why the 圆 isn't the best option to add more DSP? Since I currently have 200% DSP (with the Twin DUO), the OCTO would give me an additional 800% (but only on playback) and the x4 (400% on recording or playback) & 圆 (600% on recording or playback but new HEXA cores that state 50% more power than previous Apollos would actually be close to a 900% improvement?) Without worrying (too much) about price differences being a factor, I'm looking to add either an OCTO Satellite, -or- a x4/圆 (the option to have it rack mounted at my desk is *drooling emoji*)Īs I understand it the OCTO would actually give me more DSP but only during playback, whereas adding another Apollo unit would actually give me more DSP while recording and playback. I don't see myself recording anything other than just me for the foreseeable future and never really need more than 2 mics at a time (sure I'd want more, but let's not get off-topic). But hindsight being 20/20 I'm looking to you lovely people to help with my next purchase: more DSP. Now had I known this prior to purchasing my Apollo Twin X DUO I certainly would have opted for the QUAD. But of course I need what everyone needs: more DSP.
